How many days do you need in Kashmir?
The honest answer is four to seven nights. Here is how the options compare.
4 nights - the classic circuit
Enough for Srinagar (with a houseboat night), a Gulmarg day trip, a full day in Pahalgam, and the Mughal Gardens. It moves at a steady pace with some early starts. This is the Classic Kashmir package.
5 to 6 nights - classic plus Sonamarg, slower
Add a day trip to Sonamarg and the Thajiwas glacier, plus breathing room in Srinagar and Pahalgam. Best balance of coverage and relaxation for most first-time visitors. See the 6-day Kashmir tour.
7 nights or more - offbeat valleys
Now you can add Doodhpathri, Yusmarg, Naranag or the Gurez valley, or combine Kashmir with Leh Ladakh. Good for repeat visitors and photographers - the offbeat Kashmir itinerary covers this.
What we usually recommend
- First trip, limited leave: 5 nights
- Honeymoon: 5 to 6 nights, slower pace
- Photography or return visit: 7+ nights with offbeat stops
