Day-by-day itinerary — 6 days, 5 nights
Day 1Arrive Srinagar
Transfer to a Dal Lake houseboat. Evening shikara ride. Overnight on the houseboat.
Day 2Srinagar to Pahalgam
Mughal Gardens in the morning, then drive to Pahalgam (about 2.5 hours) through the saffron fields and apple orchards. Overnight in Pahalgam.
Day 3Pahalgam valleys
Full day by local taxi to Betaab Valley, Aru Valley and Chandanwari. Riverside walk along the Lidder. Overnight in Pahalgam.
Day 4Pahalgam to Gulmarg
Drive to Gulmarg via Srinagar. Afternoon gondola ride to Kongdoori. Overnight in Gulmarg.
Day 5Gulmarg to Sonamarg to Srinagar
Return towards Srinagar and continue to Sonamarg for the Thajiwas glacier and Sindh river. Back to Srinagar for the night.
Day 6Departure
Transfer to Srinagar airport.

Why only one night in Gulmarg?
Gulmarg is a half-day at most for the gondola and meadow - one night is plenty unless you are skiing in winter.
Q: Is Sonamarg a day trip or a stay?
A: On this itinerary it is a day excursion. If you want to overnight in Sonamarg we can rework it as a 6N/7D trip.
